August 25/09 Prague
Finding my way around Prague, wading through tourists to see: giant baby statues, accusation paintings (see above for Nun historical photo collage), Nunnery (the pink building), medievel torture chambers and toy museums within 2 minutes of each other at the Castle, various galleries and gargoyles. The Chech people have a reputation for making the best beer in Europe, so I had to try and yes it is good. Tonight I am going to the Opera, Rigaletto at the State Opera house.

Prague is a tourist trap extraordinare! I have never traveled in high season before…yikes too many people for my liking.
For example, I went on a two hour bus tour to see the sights, where the bus driver stopped at the big Castle on the hill for 40 minutes, for us to walk around, it’s the only bathroom stop for hundreds of people, so in the 40 minutes I had to see the Castle, I spent 30 minutes waiting in line up for the womans’ toilet. Good spot to get photo’s of gargoyles, I felt like a gargoyle at this point in time.

Press Photo of the Year by Rosie Hallen
“Orphaned elephants are looked after around the clock at the David Sheldrick Elephant Orpanage, Nairobi, Kenya.
Elephants who lose their family are often hard to care for. They often die of a broken heart. At the orphanage they have devised a system of care which involves sleeping, eating and being with the young elephants all the time. This gives them a much greater chance of survival. The carers find it hard not to get attached to the baby elephants who are constantly craving attention.” Jan 11, 2009

Wed 20th August London 09
Three hours to run around in London before my flight from Gatwick to Prague.
I take the train from Gatwick where I stayed at Gainsborough Lodge, straight to Victoria Station, then to Waterloo Station and the Royal National Theatre (RNT)to buy a ticket to see Hellen Murrin
in Phedra, I buy the last ticket for next Wednesday night the 26th, when I’ll be back in London.
Saw a fantastic “Best Of the Year”,photography exhibit at the RNT, one of a baby elephant and his care giver that touched me and another that horrified me of USA Jail Rodeo, where the prisoners are to sit and play poker as they are charged by an enraged bull last one to get up from the table wins.
Walked over the Thames bridge to Courtauld Gallery to see art exhibit, suprised to find the courtyard was full of children squeeling with delight as they ran through the water fountains. Very refreshing to find such a sight in the midst of London.
Then walked up to Covent Garden for a look around and back to Train for Gatwick.
Met a fellow from Haywards Heath, Nick Sparkles, he has agreed to take photo’s of me as a Nun in Trafalgar Square next week.
